Our awareness of the importance of having clean and hygienic offices has seen a massive spike in the last 18 months.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made us all more conscious of the environments in which we work. This is a really important factor in encouraging workforces back to the office and shared workplaces.
So how can you make sure that your office is clean and hygienic.
Firstly, we strongly recommend you employ a dedicated cleaning company to take care of the cleaning operations at set points in the week. This will mean you can be assured that the cleaning is completed to a satisfactory and safe level every time.
Secondly, are you using the right cleaning chemicals/materials? Some companies simply use polish to clean their desks. This does nothing to ensure general cleanliness and hygiene. Make sure that you’re using a proper cleaner and agitating it on the surface before wiping it away for a dry and streak free finish.
One of our favourite products is the DOSE-It C1 Cleaner. It’s a great daily surface cleaner that leaves a low residue and is really easy to dispense.
Where you have a hard floor then you need to make sure you’re using a floor cleaner that leaves a low residue (it needs a neutral pH for this). Our customers find the DOSE-It C2 Floor Cleaner a great product. You might also want to check out our blog on maintaining floors.
For a carpeted floor you want to make sure you’re using a good quality vacuum cleaner. We recommend the ICE Vac CTV. This product is a lightweight and efficient product and offers great manoeuvrability.
You will also want to consider using a virucidal disinfectant on high usage surfaces. This is particularly in relation to safeguarding your workforce against COVID-19. You’ll need a product certified to BS EN 14476 like the Ultra AX Disinfectant.
